to my sis
Usually I don't write things of such personal and emotional nature but on my sisters graduation day from high school into the real world, today seems so fitting.
Today I realized what we will forgive others for because as humans we want to be loved and fear being alone. We want certain family and friends in our lives no matter how much they hurt us. Growing up, we have to make these decisions to forgive or forget. And sometimes this feels like an impossible task. I wish for no one in the world to ever be alone without family or friends, but do feel that we need to be aware that the things we say and do to others can harm the people we love for a very long time, if not forever. I know this may seem like a preschool lession of life, but it's amazing what we forget as adults.
My sister Jillian Rivers will be joining me next near in Boston studying Holistic Psychology and Photography. Jill won both a Photography and Maturity award at her school, so that's perfect for her future studies! She is an amazing up and coming photographer and is way beyond her years. I'm so excited to see her progression throughout her studies and will be there every step of the way! I love you Jill.. keep up the good work! Here is some of her recent work below: Check out more pics on Jill's flickr here
