baked from scratch

Johnny Cupcakes has began expanding his brand of limited edition t-shirts into a full collection of apparel and accessories. The cut and sew collection or what we like to refer to as products "baked from scratch" combines all the elements of living the fun, jokester lifestyle that defines the Johnny Cupcakes brand.

When first beginning our project, I had to put on my bakery hat and do what any top chef does; researched our customers and then devised a recipe. For our market research, we challenged each other to video game tournaments, watched old movies at the drive ins, cooked on the BBQ grill at the warehouse, dove into the 40 degrees freezing ocean water, and screamed our lungs off on the zipper at the carnival.

We combined some of our favorite and top quality ingredients and even custom made our own ingredients including: glow in the dark buttons, red contrast stitching, cupcakes crossbones logos, rolling pins, fun pop colors, all slowly mixed in a blender, carefully placed in an oven, and baked to perfection.

The Johnny Cupcakes brand is growing with excitement and we invite you to be apart of our fun filled journeys. From cruises, to movies nights.. we aren't stopping here! Riddles, games and prizes.. win a trip with Johnny Cupcakes himself on a fun filled exploration to places you never knew existed!

New Scarves! Tie-Up Series

We've been experimenting with the idea of trying to get numerous different scarves on the same threading. We tried a simple pointed threading combined with a more complicated treadling. Thanks to our AVL loom and Weavepoint, we are able to play around with the position of patterns and colors. This allows us to create an illusion of patterns morphing into one another. For the warp, we chose a 5/2 Cotton and for the weft Bamboo.  The colors are very natural. When worn against the skin, it complements any skintone very elegently. I am loving wearing these scarves around town.. With a mix of Bamboo/Cotton, they are perfect for the cool Spring nights.

Here is what a weaving pattern looks like for the top left scarf. By changing the weft colors, we were able to match up the pattern and the colors to create interesting stripes filled with patterns.

New! Pinwheel Bamboo Scarf

FutureCraft has been weaving up some beautiful pinwheel patterned scarves made with Bamboo yarn. Our signature black and white yarns really bring out the bold pattern on this design. We are also testing different yarn colors to substitute the black.. chocolate brown anyone?
