Fringe Movement Grand Opening

Fringe Movement opened up our doors to the public last Saturday to present the current work of all the designers in the studio. The night was amazing.. full of all sorts of interesting people from family, friends, to locals in the area. But the vibe was clear--everyone loved the space.

The KDU officially launched their consulting website including a portfolio of work of designers/artsits/photographers around the world contributing to it including but not limited to: MWM Graphics, Johnny Cupcakes has began expanding his brand of limited edition t-shirts into a full collection of apparel and accessories.

We all need to change up our visual inspiration from time to time. I always check out textile books, but then I find myself wandering to random subjects. Today's victim was the circus. Although, when I come to think of it, it's not so random at all.

Everywhere I go, quilts are on my mind.. there's something about the endless possibilities of squares, triangles, color and fabric combinations that get me so excited I can't sleep at night. So I am teaming up with a good old talented artist/designer friend of mine. More details later.. We're very excited.

I spent the lovely snowstorm at the BPL on Monday.. today (Wed) is almost 60 degrees by the way. For some reason the library was completely organized and all the books I hide in my secret stash were gone and back in their places they are supposed to be! Oh well.. at least I found this awesome outfit.

I went to Salt Lake City this weekend and ended up in a Native American store. I have always been drawn to the art of Native Americans as my mom and I would always make these growing up..

Undulating Twill

We are currently testing an undulating twill pattern using black and white variegated Bamboo yarn for the warp and all sorts of rich color hues in Tencel for the weft. It appears to have a similar look as an ikat. The weft colors are tricky. The colors I thought would look the best didn't..
